Booking Direct vs Viator: 20% Saving Math

There is a number that travel platforms don’t put on their booking pages: the commission they charge the operator. For Viator that number is 25-30%. For GetYourGuide and Klook it’s similar. The Booking.com sub-brand FareHarbor takes 18-22%. That commission flows through to the price you pay — operators don’t absorb a 30% margin hit out of love.

So when you see a tour priced at €340 on Viator, the operator (us — Rent Boat Dubrovnik) is receiving roughly €240 for the same service we’d happily sell you direct for €280.
