About this tour

Dubrovnik's city walls were built to be seen from the sea, and the evening is when they look their best — the stone of Fort Lovrijenac and the Pile side of the walls catches the low sun while the crowds on the ramparts thin out. This private cruise gives you two hours on the water in that light, with the boat to yourselves. The tour departs Marina Frapa at 18:00 or 19:00 and returns two hours later.

From Gruž harbour the skipper runs round the Lapad peninsula to the Old Town, slowing under Fort Lovrijenac and along the full length of the seaward walls to the old harbour and St John's Fortress. Lokrum, the forested island opposite the walls, is next: the skipper anchors in one of its rocky coves for a swim while the light softens, then takes the coast back towards Gruž as the sun drops. In June and July the sun sets after 20:00, so the 19:00 departure is the one that returns at sunset itself; in September and October both slots catch it.

The route is short enough that there is no transit leg — you are in front of the walls within minutes of leaving the pier — and private enough for the things people book it for: anniversaries, proposals, a last evening in Dubrovnik with friends. Tell us in the booking notes if there is an occasion and the skipper will choose the anchorage accordingly. The price of €250 is per group of up to 12 guests and includes the licensed skipper, fuel, safety equipment and a cooler with ice; bring your own drinks and a light layer for the ride back.

Departure and return are at Marina Frapa Dubrovnik, Lapadska obala 21a, about 15 minutes by taxi from the Old Town. Free cancellation up to 24 hours before departure; weather cancellations under a DHMZ marine wind warning are refunded in full.

Meeting point, weather and cancellation

The tour departs from and returns to Marina Frapa Dubrovnik, Lapadska obala 21a, 20000 Dubrovnik — about 15 minutes by taxi (roughly 4 km) from the Old Town. Parking is available at Marina Frapa. Please be at the pier a little before your departure time.

Free cancellation up to 24 hours before departure with a full refund. If DHMZ (the Croatian Meteorological and Hydrological Service) issues a marine wind warning for the day, we cancel and refund 100% — even inside 24 hours. Cancellations inside 24 hours for other reasons are non-refundable, but we will rebook you into the next available slot free of charge whenever we can.

We follow the official marine forecast from DHMZ — Croatian Meteorological and Hydrological Service, and the skipper has the final say on the route and timing on the day.

Lokrum is a protected nature reserve managed by the Lokrum Reserve; the swim stop is from the boat in a cove off the island.

Pay securely online by card through Stripe Checkout, or by card or cash at the marina by prior arrangement.

Questions about this tour

What is included in the tour price?

Every tour price includes a licensed skipper, fuel and safety equipment, so there is nothing to settle when you return. Private tours are priced per group of up to 12 guests; shared tours are priced per person, with a child rate. Food and drink ashore and the Mljet National Park entry ticket are not included.

Which Blue Cave do your tours visit?

The Koločep Blue Cave in the Elaphiti Islands, about 25 minutes from Marina Frapa Dubrovnik — not the Biševo Blue Cave in central Dalmatia, which is more than 200 km away and cannot be reached on a day trip from Dubrovnik. Book a slot that puts you in the cave between 11:00 and 13:00 for the brightest light.

Where does the tour start and end?

All tours depart from and return to Marina Frapa Dubrovnik at Lapadska obala 21a, about 15 minutes by taxi (roughly 4 km) from the Old Town. Departure times are fixed per tour and shown on this page, so please be at the pier a little before your slot. Parking is available at the marina.

What happens if the weather is bad?

If DHMZ (the Croatian Meteorological and Hydrological Service) issues a marine wind warning for the day, we cancel the tour and refund 100%, even inside 24 hours. Where possible we offer the next available departure instead, free of charge. Tours never run in conditions our skippers consider unsafe.
