About this tour

Hvar is the furthest destination we run from Dubrovnik — roughly two hours each way at speed — so this tour is reserved for the fastest boats in the fleet and a full eight-hour day. It departs Marina Frapa at 10:00 and returns at 18:00. If you want a relaxed island day with lots of swimming, the Elaphiti tour is the better choice; this one is for people who specifically want Hvar and accept that half the day is spent travelling.

The crossing follows the coast north-west past the Elaphiti Islands and the Pelješac peninsula before heading across to Hvar. The first stop is the Pakleni islands, the chain of low, pine-covered islets off Hvar town, where the skipper anchors in a clear cove for an hour of swimming. Then the boat drops you in Hvar town harbour for about two hours ashore: the Venetian-era arsenal and main square, St Stephen's Cathedral, the waterfront cafés and, if you have the legs for it, the climb to the Fortica fortress above the rooftops for the view back over the Pakleni.

Lunch is at your own expense. The return crossing leaves Hvar mid-afternoon to be back at Marina Frapa by 18:00. Sea conditions matter more on this route than on any other, and the skipper decides on the day whether the crossing is comfortable; if DHMZ has issued a marine wind warning, the tour is cancelled and refunded in full.

The price of €600 is per group of up to 12 guests and includes the licensed skipper, fuel, safety equipment and a cooler with ice. Bring swimwear, towels, sunscreen, a hat for the open-water legs and something warm for the ride home. Meet at Marina Frapa Dubrovnik, Lapadska obala 21a, about 15 minutes by taxi from the Old Town.

Free cancellation up to 24 hours before departure.

Questions about this tour

What is included in the tour price?

Every tour price includes a licensed skipper, fuel and safety equipment, so there is nothing to settle when you return. Private tours are priced per group of up to 12 guests; shared tours are priced per person, with a child rate. Food and drink ashore and the Mljet National Park entry ticket are not included.

Which Blue Cave do your tours visit?

The Koločep Blue Cave in the Elaphiti Islands, about 25 minutes from Marina Frapa Dubrovnik — not the Biševo Blue Cave in central Dalmatia, which is more than 200 km away and cannot be reached on a day trip from Dubrovnik. Book a slot that puts you in the cave between 11:00 and 13:00 for the brightest light.

Where does the tour start and end?

All tours depart from and return to Marina Frapa Dubrovnik at Lapadska obala 21a, about 15 minutes by taxi (roughly 4 km) from the Old Town. Departure times are fixed per tour and shown on this page, so please be at the pier a little before your slot. Parking is available at the marina.

What happens if the weather is bad?

If DHMZ (the Croatian Meteorological and Hydrological Service) issues a marine wind warning for the day, we cancel the tour and refund 100%, even inside 24 hours. Where possible we offer the next available departure instead, free of charge. Tours never run in conditions our skippers consider unsafe.
